The Story of Pergo
Laminate flooring was invented by the Swedish company Perstorp in 1977.
It was then sold under the brand name Pergo.
Pergo, since then has been globally the most renowned brand in the Laminate flooring industry.
Laminate flooring is available in a variety of designs ranging from wood to stone to metal.
One can choose laminate flooring based on design or the usage ( traffic ) of the given area.
While choosing laminate flooring based on usage, one should understand the AC grading mentioned on the packaging .
AC stands for Abrasion Class. The same is mentioned as AC1, AC2, AC3, AC4, AC5 and AC6.
Higher the AC value, higher is the wear and tear taking capacity of the flooring.
For usage in India, it is recommended to use nothing lesser than AC3 grade flooring.
- AC3 grade laminate flooring : Residential usage
- AC4 grade laminate flooring : Moderate commercial traffic
- AC5 grade laminate flooring : Heavy commercial traffic
- AC6 grade laminate flooring : Extremely heavy commercial traffic
